Default The Underworld?? Fissure of Woe??

I've heard recently that you can get to these two places by going to the temple of ages with a party of 8 and kneeling when the favor of the gods is for your country. Then you also have to pay 1k to get in. If you have to do all this stuff each time you go there, what's so great about the Underworld? Can someone explain if it has missions, towns, better armor, etc.? Also, could someone tell me if The Fissure of Woe is in the Underworld, or is it an entire seperate area?

The Underworld and Fissure of Woe are extremely hard optional mission, and there is some quests in them, and some exclusive weapons, and some armor crafters.

Yes, there are quests and rather hard monsters in those optional places. It's GW's equivalent of raid content, basically, as it should be somewhat taxing to even the most accomplished PvE groups. The quests in there are worth 5k, 10k XP and up, the crafters will craft the nice looking but no better than high-end armor, although I've found since the latest update that the drops aren't very impressive anymore. If you can get a good group you're basically paying 1000G for a skill point or two and I can live with that sort of trade-off. If you can't get a good group, be prepared to get slaughtered.

They are mostly pointless, same or worse drop rate than random world exploration, for a hell of a lot more work. The armor crafter isnt a very big deal, as you will not have the items you need for the stuff unless you clear the entire zone three times over. The quests are pointless, unless for some reason you *really* need that extra skill point.

Okay...the quests are worth 5K plus in experience. I was under the impression that you pretty much had to be level 20 to be able to suceed here. So um, what am I missing? You're level 20 and can't go higher. What do you need experience for? Or is that somehow related to skill points?

Yeah u really don't need xp at 20..It's just something to do once you've beaten the game and such. I've only beaten the first quest from Grenth with my guild and we were all mostly 20's (with a few 17-18's). Is the crafter in the underworld the same as the one in the grotto or citadel?

They arent mostly pointless.
Me and my daily team of non guild people actually have fun in there (Underworld) and we get very nice drops such as Storm Bows, Eternal Bows, Eternal Shields, Ghostly Staffs and occasionally Fiery Dragon Swords including other blue junk.
I don't like Fissure of Woe because the drops are bad, all it has is like Chaos Axe.

The EXP one gains beyond 20 is worth skill points, every time you fill up your bar, essentially, you'll gain a new skill point, instead of level. One could argue that farming flesh golems is faster and easier, and while it's certainly easier, I don't think it's necessarily faster. A good group can go into the underworld, do the first 5k EXP quest, leave, wash rinse and repeat. For 1000 gold per 40,000 XP (5k each member, team of 8), the tradeoff isn't bad at all. If you're in a competent group, it's worth considering, if everyone needs a few more skill points.

Yes. Each time.

There are maps to the crafters in a few places, shouldn't be too tough to find.

Also, you cannot use henchmen. Not that they would do you much good...
